Salim
Salim was born on September 3, 1908. He was an Indonesian painter who lived in France for a long time. He was a contemporary of Affandi, and his painting style was Cubism and Abstract Expressionism. Salim lived in Sete for a while, where he held his first exhibition. In 1949, Salim held a solo exhibition in Amsterdam attended by the Indonesian delegation during the Round Table Conference held in The Hague, receiving much praise. In Indonesia, his first exhibition was held in 1956 in Jakarta and Bandung. Other exhibitions were held in 1974 (Jakarta-Bandung), 1990 (Jakarta), and 2001 (Bali). Besides Indonesia, France, or the Netherlands, Salim also held exhibitions in Switzerland and Japan.
