Ida Bagus Indra
A Balinese painter working without formal training. He held his first exhibition in 1996 and was recognised as one of Indonesia's leading artists at the Indonesian Art Awards in 2003.
His paintings are concerned with light and atmosphere, and with a spiritual tension he finds in his figures. Solo exhibitions include the Lynne Wilton Gallery in Melbourne, the Ganesha Gallery at Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay, Taksu Gallery in Jakarta and Amandari in Ubud. He has shown in group exhibitions in Germany, Melbourne, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Surabaya, Yogyakarta and Malang.
