I Nyoman Gunarsa was one of Indonesia's most prominent and influential contemporary artists, particularly renowned for his contributions to Balinese painting. Born on July 17, 1944, in Banda, Klungkung, Bali, Gunarsa was a key figure in the development and promotion of modern Balinese art. Unfortunately, he passed away on September 10, 2017.Gunarsa's artistic journey was marked by a deep engagement with Balinese culture and traditions, which he skillfully blended with modern artistic techniques and perspectives.
